Job Description

Terrelonge Staffing Solutions is assisting our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, in finding a skilled Quality Lab Analyst to join their team in Greenville, MS. This role involves performing analytical services that support production and packaging activities while maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience guiding lab technicians, assisting with the validation of methodologies, and ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Plan, direct, and guide the day-to-day activities of the Quality Lab Analysts.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all quality protocols and procedures are followed according to lab standards.
  • Contamination Prevention: Support adherence to the Contamination Prevention Code of Practice.
  • Technical Expertise: Act as the lab’s technical expert, providing training to lab employees on relevant topics.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee instrumentation maintenance and preventive maintenance programs; perform daily calibration on lab instruments.
  • Data Accuracy: Collaborate with lab personnel to ensure the accuracy of lab data and certificates of analysis for internal and external customers.
  • Production Support: Provide technical support to plant production employees and perform routine analyses as needed.
  • Documentation: Document data and results in appropriate technical databases and records.
  • Staff Training: Assist with interviewing and training additional laboratory staff or contractors.
  • Communication: Keep open communication with supervisors and operations managers about laboratory issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Minimal supervision required but may lead temporary laboratory analysts on shift as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (preferred) or a related technical field.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in manufacturing quality control is desired.
  • Lab Expertise: Prior hands-on laboratory experience, including expertise with HPLC, is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn computer-controlled analytical instrumentation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, talk, and lift minor weights as required; good vision is necessary to discern subtle color changes.
